I had a Hamilton Beach kettle for just a few years and the safety turn off stopped working. I decided it was time for another and chose this one. I noticed right away that the safety did not work. There was a piece of paper stuck in it reminding you that you need to fill to the MIN line for it to work. I filled it up several times well over the line including almost to the top. The water boils like Chernobyl ready to explode and it did not turn off. I let an entire kettle run dry and still no shut off. I thought I had a bad one so returned for same to Amazon. The next day my new one does exactly the same thing ! Kettle to the line, half full, then full and it boils for an hour. These should be recalled and not sold. I'm switching brands never to buy anything Hamilton Beach again. It's just not safe.
