Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

The kettle design is good, giving a decent pour that lets it empty out most of the way, I have no real complaints there. But the heating is very imprecise, specifically because it overshoots badly. Attempting to heat water to anything over 200 degrees will typically just send it shooting straight to 212, IE boiling. (Or, to put it literary terms, "The temperature at which coffee burns.") At the least the temperature gauge that judges the water inside means that once it does this, you can check to see if the water's cooled off enough, but doing so requires you to keep pressing the button and making a nice loud beep every time (not the most lovely thing to listen to repeatedly first thing in the morning, especially if other people are still sleeping). Better heating moderation to ease things to the correct temperature (or even better, single-degree increments instead of two-degree) would probably make this a five star review, but having to finagle it and mess with it every time I use it (which is once or twice a day), the decent design and materials are the only thing keeping it at three stars. Edit: After being contacted by the seller, twice, I have decided to edit this review, since they requested that of me. Both times they attempted to guilt trip me by claiming that my review of the product would somehow lead to lower pay for their staff of part-time students. "The rate of feedback is closely related to our performance and salary. You know paying tuition is not easy." it says. Why this company has chosen to tie the salaries of their support staff to reviews a product they presumably did not assemble is a mystery, but I do know that I am very annoyed by this attempt at emotional manipulation and emotional blackmail. The first time I contacted Amazon to let them know what had happened, and was assured that it would be escalated and taken care of. Well, apparently it's not taken care of yet, since I received an identical email today. Do not trust any of the five star reviews on this product. Assume all of them to have been made by people too soft-hearted to stand up to such blatant attempt to play on their better nature. This seller will harass you and try to make you feel like some sort of monster for leaving anything less than a glowing review, do not buy from them, ever.
