This is NOT a "Huggable" Plush Toy
I rarely write reviews but thought it was important to provide information to others who, like me, may be misled about this particular toy.
I bought this for my 20-month old granddaughter who dearly loves Elmo. When I opened the box, I was surprised to find that the entire body of this supposedly "huggable" toy, from neck to crotch and from the left side of the body to the right, is completely comprised of a hard plastic battery pack that is only thinly covered with cheap fabric.
There is literally no stuffing whatsoever in the body of this allegedly "huggable" toy and, needless to say, my granddaughter has no desire to "hug" a hard plastic battery pack.
Neither her older brother or I can determine how one is supposed to operate it by "hugging" it. It does sing and talk if you press your hand down HARD on a spot rather low on the toy's tummy or lift its arms, but the repertoire is quite limited and at times annoyingly repetitious.
This is nothing like my granddaughter's other stuffed toys, which actually are huggable and where all a child has to do is press the toy's hand or a spot on the tummy to make them operate. All in all, it was quite a surprising disappointment given this cheap, poorly manufactured toy is Sesame Street's 50th Year Anniversary offering for the much-loved Elmo character!
