This fan would be great, except for one major problem - it makes a very noticeable low-pitched rumble noise on most of the speed settings. The fan noise (air flow noise) is very quiet, which makes the rumble all the more noticeable. I've found that the noise is least noticeable at speeds 2, 4, and 8. The lowest speed would be nearly completely silent, but the rumble noise is the loudest at this setting! Amazon sent me a replacement, but the replacement was worse! Customer service offered to give me a discount, so I decided it was worth keeping for a discounted price, but I can only really use it on 2 or 3 of the 8 speed settings. I want to love this fan, but I would not recommend it to anyone. It's definitely not worth the cost. If anyone knows of a truly silent fan (less than $60-70) please let me know!
