Unacceptably high failure rate after a few months, imagine how high it will be in a few years after the warranty ends
1. The Display Port Cable included is junk and will cause issues, notably blurry text and strange lines across the monitor. A thicker gold plated cable solved this issue for me but YMMV.
2. Despite being advertised as a 144hz monitor with G-Sync and Lightboost, Lightboost only works up to 120Hz. It also doesn't work with G-Sync activated. On top of that, the monitor becomes extremely dim when using lightboost. Don't expect to use lightboost midday without drawing the curtains, turning off the lights, and dimming nearby monitors (essentially, it only works in a cave).
3. G-Sync issues, while not directly ASUS's fault, are extremely annoying and you should know before you purchase expecting it to just work. Using my 2 GTX980s in SLI results in an inconsistent framerate in BF4. I haven't tried it only a single card, I don't know of any single card that can even run BF4 in 1440p/ultra at a steady 144hz. With G-sync off my PC can stay above 144Hz no problem, but with it on frames constantly flutter between 144 and 137-ish fps. It's like an engine hitting the rev limiter.
When it drops frames down to the 130s it causes stutters, making the game unplayable. Limiting the game in engine to 140fps solved the issues and it will hold those frames consistently without stuttering.
4. My monitor came from Amazon Warehouse deals and stated something to the effect of "less than 5% cosmetic damage, missing manual." Cosmetically it was perfect so far as I can tell, but it did not come in the original box and did not come with a USB 3.0 A to B cable needed for the USB 3.0 Hub. It also had a relatively small amount of packaging protection.
EDIT: Monitor died after owning it for 60 days. It started with slightly blurred text again before developing white horizontal scan lines. It obviously isn't related to video card, video drivers, or the cable like the Asus Tech support suggested because the monitor displays the scan lines without even hooking an input up. There is a 125+ post thread in the Gaming Monitor section of the Asus ROG Forum filled with people who have experienced the same issue. All the other threads in the forum are also ROG Swift owners complaining about thier broken monitors. Asus has not made any statments or even commented in the thread. This monitor was clearly rushed to market and has an unusually high failure rate combined with a disturbing lack of manufacturer comment. Even if you get a 'good' unit, given the failure rate of new ones these monitors probably aren't built to last. Hopefully you will still be in warranty when it fails. If you are, enjoy Asus's infamous 3 month RMA process. If not, enjoy your broken $800 monitor.
