Want some ads for yoga stuff? Here you go!
I'm a certified yoga instructor and I'll admit, the Yoga Journal website can be a very useful source of information about various poses and other basic information. Unfortunately, the magazine isn't really worth the price. It taps into the "trendy fitness" market--lose weight! Tone your core! Look great! De-stress and detox! It's true, yoga can help with those things, but do we really need another magazine out there telling us we need to look better and lose more weight? Even if you think we do, those articles (Tone your core!) are very brief and not all that informative. Seriously, go to the website instead. The other thing the magazine does is something that pretty much all magazines do, I guess: it markets. It is so full of ads that it's difficult to find the articles. Ironic, since yoga is supposed to lead to happiness from the inside: that is to say, yoga is non-materialistic. Oh well. So to reiterate: do yourself a favor. Go to the website instead of investing in this magazine.
