Like a few others here, I've had issues with the desk. The biggest issue that earned this desk the 1 star review is how unstable the thing is. Even with the legs on the desk at its shortest setting and on flat carpeted floor, any bump to the desk will cause one of the legs to collapse and send any object on it sliding to the ground. It's even worse when you try to use this on the couch as most people intend. The main problem is that the metal latches that are supposed to hold the legs in their open position are laughably inadequate and easily slip out of the hole they're nestled in at the slightest movement of the desk. This leaves the legs completely unsecure and unstable. I've completely stopped using this desk on the couch after barely catching a $2000 laptop that almost tumbled off the couch when simply shifting in my seat caused one of the legs on the desk to completely buckle. UPDATE: I've added a video that shows how inadequate the latch is. When the metal latch used to lock the leg is in 'lock' position, the leg can still move further into the 'open' position, which occurs whenever you put any weight on the desk. Thanks to the weird shape of the latch post (which has a curve on the locking side) and the positioning, this additional leg movement forces the latch out of the hole which leaves the leg free to swing back to the closed position, causing the table to collapse, which happens whenever the desk receives even the slightest jostle.. Update 2: While the desk could use some work, the company customer service is excellent. As evidenced by their comments to other reviews and personal experience, they genuinely seem like they want the customer to be satisfied with their product. After this review, they contacted me with possible solutions to the problem. When those failed, they didn't hesitate to offer a replacement or a refund.
