The Bluetooth App Is Close to Worthless - Get the Instant Pot Ultra instead.
Please be aware that this one star review was for the bluetooth. Finally Instant Pot dumped the bluetooth in favor of the wifi. I do not have the wifi since I already have the Ultra, which I am fond of. This was my review, however, concerning the bluetooth: The Smart Pot itself is a very good instrument. However, the bluetooth app is close to worthless. I bought a smart pot in 2015 and stopped using the app due to its unreliability. I recommend saving $80 and getting the Instant Pot IP-DUO60, although I recommend the Ultra. I had purchased the Smart Pot in June 2015. I checked with Instant Pot in February 2017 as I was thinking of purchasing a second instant pot (before the Ultra was released). I was told that there were no improvements or upgrades to the bluetooth app since June 2015. As a result, I bought the Instant Pot IP-DUO60 instead. The Instant Pot IP-DUO60 is the same as the Smart Pot, $80 cheaper, and without the bluetooth and its app. I have since purchased the Instant Pot Ultra, and gave away the DUO60. A significant problem with the DUO60 was the red on black interface, which made it difficult to read. The Ultra has a white on blue interface and is much easier to read. I now have an Ultra. I love it and recommend it highly. Recommendation to Instant Pot: You should go talk to someone at ChefSteps.com. They make the Joule, a sous vide cooker. A significant feature of the Joule is the fact it has excellent bluetooth and internet capability. A functional app as that which comes with the Joule would make the $80 cost of the SmartPot, or enhance Ultra, worthwhile. The app which comes with the current version of the Smart Pot is substandard (particularly in comparison) and a ripoff.
