These provide a false sense of security, which is far more dangerous than not having them at all. I am a carpenter who has used similar items at work to carry up large windows, mirrors and even granite slabs. Granted, those were more industrial, but these are not only worthless, they are downright dangerous. Out of the two I ordered, the week before I went in to have both knees completely replaced, one of them was fairly unreliable from the beginning and the other seemed reliable enough as long as I checked it before relying on it. I made sure to clean the tile thoroughly with a final wipedown of rubbing alcohol prior to sticking them on. I also tried sticking them on while completely dry and also tried with a bit of moisture which can help other suction products make a better seal. After three weeks since surgery I was finally able to make it into the shower where I built a bench and added additional grab bars to the outside of the shower with screws going into framing materials. It worked well enough the first two showers, but today, after double-checking it, it completely failed as I lowered myself on to the bench while using additional support on the other hand. This thing came unstuck, causing me to fall and bend one knee much farther, and with much more force than it was ready for which is going to delay in my recovery. Even if I had been healthy, this would have caused some sort of injury. I am a fit, fifty year old carpenter and a part-time athlete with above average coordination and no stranger to keeping myself stable in less than desirable conditions. A fall like mine would have devastated a more frail person. There is no way that i installed these incorrectly, and I should have just returned them a month ago, but I didn't have time. The only reason to buy these is to try to cause and injury to someone who can't protect themselves as well as I could, and I'm still looking at a much more painful recovery than I had been prior to the FAILURE OF THIS PRODUCT. Amazon needs to remove this vendor, and all of their products until they have re-tooled the product, and compensated me for my suffering. Hey AMAZON! I know you read these, so make sure you do something about it. I will be screenshotting everything and I will not stop until something has been done in favor of the unsuspecting customers.
