You get what you pay for.
I've never had a weight-plate break on me before, but here we are. Now, I'm not one of those guys who drops bars to the ground. I do everything in a controlled fashion and on rubber mats as well. I was doing deadlifts, and when I brought the bar down for the final rep, this stupid thing cracked, just like that. Of course, CAP only offers a 30 day warranty on plates, so I'm totally out of luck. But this thing didn't even last 5 months. I have plates that are literally older than I am (I'm 39 and the plates were my dad's). Do yourself a favor and invest in something higher quality.
