This will be the only book in the series I will never reread. Around 60% of the book in I remember sighing to myself that we were still going over his level up items from the last book and the story really hadn't progressed at all. I honestly feel cheated that this is considered a book in comparison to his prior books. It has nothing to do with size of the book. I would have been delighted to get a 300 page well written story. The tone felt off and nothing really happened. If he had presented this as 7.5 or short bridge story instead of as book 8 I might have given it a better review. Lastly, do we really need to hear if this this this this had not happened in my past he could not have hit this hard for two pages? Do we need a recap of every system in detail? Did we really need a chapter about a bowel movement? This book needs to be looked at by a professional editor. Have them trim the fluff to just leave the beautiful gem that could exist underneath.
