The wood on the stand seems of good quality and I like(d) the idea of having the proper stand that was made by Yamaha themselves to match their digital piano. However, upon a few weeks of use I have a few issues. 1) The stand is considerably smaller than I expected. While the width is pretty self explanatory (the width of your piano), the height from pictures is, in my opinion, deceiving. It looks much taller in pictures than it ended up being. Even the dimensions listed don't convey the height properly. Once the piano is mounted, there is about 23 inches of clearance. I'm a 6'3" male with longer legs, and I cannot comfortably fit my legs underneath. My knees are jammed up against the bottom of the piano, and make it extremely difficult to use just a sustain pedal. I can't imagine what it would be like attempting to shift my legs around if I had the three pedal piece. The only possible remedy to this would be using a piano stool too far away which will disable you from having a proper piano posture, which obviously isn't a good thing. If you have not seen this stand in person, are considering ordering it, and are six feet tall or over/just have long legs, I would urge you to consider going to look at one in person somewhere if possible. 2) The wood is solid, and alone the stand feels "sturdy enough." However, I can't help but feel it was designed to almost force you to by the three pedal piece along with it. Putting it together I just felt like I wanted one more connecting piece to make it perfectly stable. I truly feel like the L85 stand the LP-5 three pedal unit should be bundled together. Which leads into my final point, and star deduction. 3) The price. I spent the money to buy this unit because I felt very partial to have a digital piano unit that was all made to work together. I liked the idea of all the pieces being Yamaha and made to be specifically assembled with each other. However, for three pieces of wood, $100 feels very steep to me. To be honest I feel the L85 and LP-5 should be bundled together for just about this price. There's absolutely no way, in MY opinion, that together they are worth $180. If when purchasing you can find a bundle of everything together (like perhaps the stand, pedal unit, and digital piano all) for a very good amount off retail price, then it might be worth it. But, buying each piece individually is a real stretch. Overall, the stand will function for it's use. For home use of your Yamaha digital piano, with no intent to move it around once it's set up and put in place. Really, it is pretty self explanatory what it is and with no real moving parts it's not like it's going to go bad over time or anything, I just wanted to point out a few things that one new to pianos and who just purchased their first digital piano, like myself, may not be immediately aware of from just quickly viewing the product at an online retailer.
