That was the third sign that concerned me so I immediately unplugged the outlet and hopped on the internet to research this type of outlet. It didn't take long to find information about the potential security issues of all these types of devices. After that I decided that, aside from the failed install, these were not worth the risk they present to the security of your network. Buyer beware.
