★★☆☆☆
This speakers lacks a whole lot bass.
I've been wanting to write a review on this device since the day it was released but the site wouldn't accept reviews apparently until now.. So here's the deal.. It's a really intelligent mobile speaker.. Actually it's the most intelligent mobile battery powered speaker that I've ever seen and interacted with, you guys read all the things Alexa can do already so I won't further ellaborate there. Here's the reason why I'm returning this product.. The speaker's low to mid range frequency is flat out god awful. At low volumes, the speaker already produces very little bass. However as soon as you raise the volume to say 40-50%, the speaker "intelligently" lowers the bass and highers the treble, completely by design. The problem is is that the speakers lowers the bass in a very un natural way. It makes the speaker sound cheap every single time it does this. If you proceed to higher the volume to say 75%, the bass is pretty much non existent. I can't comprehend how Amazon's research and developing team could test out this device and honesty think to themselves that their speaker sounds at mid to lower frequencies were satisfactory to them. It's quite the contrary, the speaker was completed neglected in the lower frequency spectrum. I'm so disappointed in the sound of this speaker. Don't get me wrong.. For audible books, speech podcasts, news, and even how crisp Alexa's voice is, the speaker performs really well. The problem is is that as soon as you want to Listen to some music on this thing and test its acoustics by raising its volume.. You'll be greatly disappointed.
