★☆☆☆☆
Useless hunk of plastic.
I have had my fare share of this abomination. I like to call them, the air subtracter. For $200+, this thing is totally not worth it. First off, this thing sounds like a hair dryer. Very loud and high pitched. Second, the amount of air flow this plastic hunk of garbage has is pitiful. I have seen smaller fans put out twice as much air at nearly 1/200th the cost and less than 1/3rd the sound. Third, what many many people do NOT realize is the dust build up. People may think it is easy to clean but that is entirely wrong. You CAN'T get to the internals of the unit which are located in the base. Once dust gets in there and starts clogging up the motor and impeller, the unit will definitely fail to work. Unlike traditional fans which can be cleaned fairly easy, this cannot. That "buffeting" claim is nonsense. I have done side-by-side comparisons with several different fans and all of the cheaper models have out performed the Dyson in every aspect. If you want a real fan, get a Vornado. You can pick up a brand new one for around $50 and it will easily out perform almost every household fan on the market. I have several including one really big one that has been in a window for 50+ years and still works every day for several hours on end, flawlessly. Now THAT is what I call customer loyalty.
