Unless you enjoy reprocessing your photos to meet the idiosyncrasies of this frame, don't buy this product.
At first blush, this appeared to be an ideal replacement for a ten year old frame of identical size and native resolution. Regrettably, it was not to be. The product is an attractive design and initial setup was straightforward. Thereafter, however, things rapidly deteriorated. The frame recognised the USB stick but, rather than simply loading each file in sequence as my prior frame had done, initiated a laborious, extended and seemingly redundant process of preloading all files (there were 5600). Once this process completed, pressing "Play" had no effect whatsoever although, after an extended pause, the preloading process restarted. Although there is no indication online or in the documentation, the frame severely limits the resolution of input files (mine are 5760x3840) instead of simply auto-formatting to the native frame resolution. NIX recommends converting files to 800x600 (1366x768 is apparently the maximum) and 72dpi which, imo, is a preposterous and onerous requirement. No decent camera is taking 800x600 photos these days. Moreover, it transpires that a very restrictive naming convention must be followed and standard characters such as underscores, which are commonplace with many cameras, are apparently prohibited. Needless to say, I am not going to rename 5600 files. None of these deficiencies are documented in the skimpy manual nor, as far as I could tell, in the online knowledge base. They should be emblazoned on all documentation and promotional materials. There were also no error or warning messages which strikes me both as a serious omission and one which, if rectified, would prove helpful to the bemused user. My now defunct frame, which this unit was intended to replace, could handle all my files as is in terms of resolution, dpi,file-naming and character handling. I simply converted from Camera RAW files to JPEG and reduced quality and was then ready to go. I would have expected the technology to significantly improve after ten years and not to actively regress. The sole area in which NIX lived up to its reputation was in support which swiftly confirmed my suspicions of the product's limitations. Unless you're into resizing your files, limiting their dpi and confining yourself to restrictive file-namingsimply to accommodate the vagaries of this frame, I would stay well away from this product. For my requirements at least, it is not fit for purpose. Unsurprisingly, I have returned the unit and will be researching possible alternatives with an unusual degree of care.
