I placed one battery into the carbon monoxide alarm and it did not work. What the battery did instead was emit a bad odor and caused the battery to heat up. I was afraid the battery was going to explode because it was still heating up even though it wasn't plugged into anything. I inserted the second battery into the alarm and it did not work either. This time the battery didn't heat up but I did hear a static noise inside the battery. Very disappointing purchase and a scary experience.
