The ratchet holds well and there is minimal belt distortion. The teeth on the buckle that bite into the leather tear through and then the belt fails. I cut it long just to be safe and i am glad i did i have had to trim the belt multiple times and reset the buckle. Soon it will be out of room and i will not be able to use it anymore.
