Compact and comfortable. Not too hard and not too soft either. I can honestly say I'm impressed. I would buy it again. EDIT: Just under two years in, I've now had this mattress for awhile. It eventually sags into the center a little, which is annoying but perhaps forgivable for the price. However, this is the second mattress from this company to become completely riddled with Black Mold. I contacted them and was told that they couldn't help me without the "law label", which I no longer had because I threw out the mattress (after taking pictures). Anyway, I wouldn't buy this mattress again. We started temporarily using a futon mattress in the meantime, and I can honestly say it's more comfortable anyway.
