Ordered an Extra-filled Blu Ray but received a cheap knockoff barebones BD-R instead
I ordered the What We Do in the Shadows Blu Ray which claimed to have "over 2 hours of Fang-Tastic features" on May 7th and received it promptly a couple of days later. I was pleased to read the slip-case which promised on a bold yellow banner that it did, indeed, contain those "over 2 hours of Fang-Tastic features!" What slipped my eye at first, however, was the lack of a legitimate Blu Ray logo on the cover. Instead, where the logo appears on the front cover in the photos on Amazon, the disc I received had no logo and simply the words, "Blu-Ray Disc" printed there. When I sat down to watch one of the funniest movies I had ever seen, I was disappointed again when the menu offered only three options: Feature, Trailer and Audio Set-Up. Where did all the Fang-Tastic features go? Like a vampire exposed to sunlight, the features appear to have evaporated into the ether. This is a blatant bait-and-switch. I hope everybody else got the legitimate Blu-Ray they ordered and paid for, because I did not. I have started the return process and have had to settle for ordering the Canadian version from Amazing (fulfilled through Amazon) which is an improvement over this travesty but still lacks some of the main bonus material that is included on various over-seas versions (and which were promised here). Please, if you order this, and receive the version without the Blu Ray logo, don't hesitate to return it immediately.
On the upside, the movie is still great and worth the price. I'm giving this a one-star review because the product received is not the product promised.
Can't wait for Amazon to offer the real Blu Ray again and I'm looking forward to a decent disc release of the current TV series, too. Bat!
