Not what I expected
I am glad that I purchased this when it was on sale, and only about as much as any other brands HB Booster. I would hate to have spent more on this than the $60ish I did.
I chose to get a Diono because the other seat we have from them is superior to anything else on the market. In safety and comfort alike.
I had anticipated better of this seat considering that experience, and the great reviews.
However , I do not feel this is what I got.
The cover is thin and cheap, just like the $13 seat I got at walmart when I needed something immediately one day. There is no reinforced frame like I had thought there would be - given Dino seats are known for this.
All in all, no. I am not happy with this purchase in the slightest. My daughter is just as uncomfortable sitting in this one as she is sitting on the crappy graco one I only paid $13 for.
In my photos, you can see the wimpy measly "padding" used in this seat, it isn't even 1/4" thick, it's basically mesh. You can also see how it fits in my car - pretty awkwardly, I had to remove the vehicles head rest, and it still sits strangely. (Vehicle is a 2013 Honda Odyssey)
You can also see the comparison to my other Diono seats padding - purple seat (which is a radian) it has 1"thick memory foam, a steel reinforced frame and a thicker quality fabric on the cover as well - which doesn't exactly show in photos however.
I've taken a rather long time to get around to writing this review from when I purchased it. Thinking that if I just gave it some time I'd realize it was better than my first impression. No. Not the case. The ONLY feature this actually has, that is worth getting any stars - is the latch hooks. Although those are not the same quality as my other Diono seat either. But I do like being able to latch the booster into the car.
