★★☆☆☆
The author is too opinionated for an objective biography.
This book seemed to start off well, and then the author began to get too opinionated throughout. However, I stuck with it because I was eagerly anticipating the chapters on Stewart's Hitchcock films, and maybe learn some new facts about the relationships with Hitch and his co-stars. So what happens? The author opines that Hitchcock is "overrated", says REAR WINDOW was the only Hitchcock film that Stewart was in that has any value, dismisses VERTIGO completely (which is acknowledged by many to be one of the greatest films ever made and is my personal favorite), and quickly moves on after a paragraph to the next subject. I shut down my Kindle in disgust and have no interest in finishing the book now.
