Ok, here’s my reason for the poor review. While we all know DeOxit D5 is great stuff, apparently so do the makers. Not sure if they switched to the new NON ADJUSTABLE can because it’s cheaper, or to make us waste this expensive chemical....probably a bit of both. While DeOxit is awesome, this can is stupid, flat out. I’m a Professional Audio tech and own a Vubtage HiFi resto Company. I go through 25 cans a year, if not more. With the new non adjustable can, it just wastes the stuff, if that’s not bad enough.....it floods your gear too. While I’ve developed a method to lightly spray it, it doesn’t work well. Found a new source for the old school adjustable can. Just make sure that’s the can you get. It will last 10times as long, literally. I’m actually experimenting with new products due to DeOxits poor business practices. I’m not going to put up with it. They know exactly what they are doing and I’m not happy. Neither are the 50 or so other techs I’m buddies with. A group of us at wtesting every product out there, to see what works. DeOxit May have a monopoly on contact cleaners, but not for long. We will be adding our findings to every review around the net and the forums. Also, your MUST follow DeOxit D5 up with a lubricant like FaderLube or you’re destroying those pots! Seriously. Know what you’re doing before you destroy this vintage gear. When it’s gone it’s gone. Being able to point and spray is not KNOWING what you are doing. Learn or oh someone who actually knows. It kills me what I see these days. Back jobs everywhere. Beware.
