If purchasing through the seller "Secondipity", beware. My earbuds were not working properly, so I called Sony tech support, and after about an hour on the phone we determined the earbuds are defective. The Sony rep asked me for the serial number, and I gave it to him. He said the item with this serial number is known to be defective, and was scrapped, and, since it was scrapped it should NOT have been resold. It is NOT simply an "open box" item - Sony scrapped it or instructed that it should be scrapped! The Amazon product description says these Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds should be "Renewed products work and look like new. These pre-owned products have been inspected and tested by Amazon-qualified suppliers." On the contrary, the one sold to me was known by Sony to be defective, and they had scrapped it.
