If this is Kevlar thread, YOU NEED ANOTHER SUPPLIER!!!!
I just got these gloves a few hours ago. Spent a little too much time in the cold yesterday, so taking things easy today. Gloves arrived (with other items) in great condition. As per another review I remembered reading, there was a noticeable difference in quality between the two gloves. One, the leather "looked" high quality. On the other, leather was a bit stringy, couple of slight abrasions, but nothing I would dock any points for.
I went through my normal process of limbering up the gloves. First glove (right hand, good leather) turned out fine. Almost as limber as my worn-out pair. The left hand was a different story. Got just about done with the limbering process when I noticed separation at the inside base of two of the fingers (see photos). There is complete separation under the middle finger, that extends slightly into the ring finger. I noticed that a piece of thread was broken on both ends, so pulled it out. Took 2 pair of needle nose pliers and went to break the thread, half expecting that piece to break where the pliers were gripping it. Nope, I was wrong! The thread broke in the middle of the inch-long piece, where there was NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR STRESS" to the thread. It broke so easily that this is most certainly NOT Kevlar! I've used Kevlar thread for more than 30 years now. This ain't it!
Though not mentioned in the upper description, the listing does specifically state that these gloves are stitched together using Kevlar thread. I can overlook a lot of things, but the quality of thread is paramount in good quality gloves, and is absolutely vital in welding gloves. As you can see from the images, it was not sewn too close to the edge of leather. Only thing that failed here was the thread. And if the thread is no good, then the gloves are no good.
Note to SELLER - Find a reputable supplier for your thread!

UPDATED Jan. 31, 2020:
I bet this is a first. Within hours of a review being published, there's already an update. *lol* But, this is actually a plea to the manufacturer. Maybe the Seller can contact the Manufacturer and pass this message on.
I keep going over in my mind about these gloves. There was a lot of thought that went into them. Looks like two other sellers with the same gloves, but not labelled the same brand. Neither of the other sellers mention anything about Kevlar thread.
Some of you are probably wondering what is the big deal? Well, these gloves have an extra layer of leather in all the right places. However, this also demands that the thread be suitable for all of that reinforcement. In this instance, the gloves were not able to withstand a limbering process, much less to make it out to the shop. I would VERY MUCH like to see these gloves again with the Kevlar thread. If that happens, then these might just end up being THE MOST INCREDIBLE WELDING GLOVES EVER MADE!! Everything from the lining, heat shield, leather reinforcement....it's all there! All except the thread.
If you can get that one problem fixed, I promise you I will buy your gloves for the rest of my working life! Yes, the design is THAT GOOD!! So this is a plea to the Manufacturer -- PLEASE get the thread issue straightened out.
