After much research on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to purchase a Delta variable speed midi lathe as a Christmas gift for my husband last year. Reviews indicated that Delta tools were dependable and well built. What the reviews didn't say is there is no customer service. Within a week, the speed control ceased to work. Then the motor reset switch followed suit. After several calls to Customer Service, the lathe was shipped to Delta for repair. That was in May and my husband was told after several weeks that the company was having trouble getting parts. In June, the story was the same. After yet another frustrating call in early July, the service department explained that the parts were still on order and that the warehouse was in transition to be moved. When asked if the lathe would be repaired soon, my husband was told quite frankly they didn't know. As we approach August, 8 months since the lathe was purchased, I felt compelled to write to Delta headquarters hoping that their awareness of the situation and concern for customer satisfaction would get my husband's much cherished lathe returned. I am still waiting....... Potential Delta customers, be aware, THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. And Delta, please learn from your mistakes, fix my husband's lathe or if it's not repairable, replace it.
