As you can see in the photos, when this was assembled, the ground wire was cut into by, presumably, the blade on the switch. When I switched it on, it immediately let out a loud pop and flash, and tripped the circuit breaker in my house. It let out a fair bit of the magic smoke from the burning wire insulation as well. This could happen with most any product, but it makes it clear that these are not tested after assembly. The way the end is assembled, this looks like it could be a common fault. I have second one that I'm a bit afraid to use at this point without taking it apart and inspecting it.
