I got this scanner because I thought it would be more convenient than just using a scanner app on my phone. Completely miserable. Software/drivers for this scanner look like they haven't been updated for 10 years. Every time I wake up my computer from sleep I get about five error messages indicating "Invalid Argument" for the scanner, which I have to click OK to get rid of each one (although the scanner still "works"). The scanner works--barely. It doesn't properly size documents, often leaving a strip of black in the scanned pages to the left or right. It also incorrectly cuts off the right third of the page, with no apparent way of correcting this. I am a tech-savvy person, and so I figured there were probably things I could troubleshoot and would be able to work through the issues. I've really given it a chance and have tried to work with the settings (I've spent probably a couple hours trying to research and troubleshoot the problems I've been experiencing), but I believe this is just a bad piece of outdated technology that Brother needs to discontinue or introduce a new model. While I have been impressed with the quality of some Brother products, this is not one where their reputation shines through. I would steer clear of this and look for a scanner that has been updated for the 21st century.
