Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I purchased this based on a review I read here.It cost much more than needed to make a cup of coffee but the review of the quality convinced me it was worth it. I loved it and was happy with the purchase for 16 months. During that time I paid an additional 7.40 for recommended cleaner and 10.00 for a new water filter. Still happy. THEN it started to leak out the bottom. Something inside the maker rusted out (Assume this because water has rust in it) and a good amount of water leaks out each time I use it. Time for a new coffee maker. I've had Mister Coffee machines that lasted for decades, wishing they'd break so I could get a newer model!!. I could purchase 5 for the cost of this one Zojirushi. Customer service people were very nice and prompt in response BUT the bottom line is that because it's out of warranty they would fix it free IF I paid shipping to get it to them. The cost to ship was over $30.00 AND with the many disclaimers outlining circumstances that would rule out a free fix I opted to not do it. REALLY afraid to send good money after bad. I dislike writing bad reviews but as I relied on a review to purchase, I think it important to let people know what can happen 16 mos. down the road.
