Make your OWN healthy refills
I have three dogs all around 10 pounds. They all initially turned their heads to these. They eventually chewed on them but one of my dogs puked that night. I tried a week later, same thing. I threw the rest away.
I then had an "aha" moment to make my own healthy refills (because the treat toy itself is a good design) - cut sweet potatoes and butternut squash into slices with a mandolin and use a tiny circle cookie cutter (link below) to punch a hole in the center of each slice and then dehydrate. I like to dehydrate until they are soft, not "chip" hard. I seal them up in a ziplock and refrigerate.
I'm going to try apples and even chicken and beef. If anyone tries to dehydrate other treats in this way, please post a comment and let me know how it works!
