It pains me to write this as I'm a big fan of Nature's Miracle products. This box has some great design features -- the slick plastic makes it easy to wipe clean and the lack of corners means the cat is more comfortable using it. However, this product has some seriously fatal flaws. The first is that the latches aren't covered by the drip edge in the cover. This means that if you have a male cat that pees on the wall of the hood in the right area, nearly all the urine runs down into the latch and is directed outside of the box! You can use a garden sprayer to simulated the peeing action and observe this for yourself -- this is what the company should have done in the design stage. With my cat this happens about once a week or so. The other problem is that the box doesn't have any sort of feet or standoffs to keep the bottom off the floor. This means that the bottom of the box and the floor create a sort of capillary interface that sucks in all the urine when it runs down the side of the box. So basically what happens is the box starts stinking to high heaven and you realize you have a large amount of concentrated cat urine trapped underneath it. Thank goodness we have a linoleum floor, anything else and you're done for. This box will be perfect once Nature's Miracle releases version 2.0. Until then, it's been a little frustrating.
