Recently my wife suggested that I try using a face mask to sleep, since she like open windows and I like darkness. I used the ones the airlines give out, but did not like the marks from the small straps that lingered for most of the day, so I started looking for a better option on Amazon. Well, based on all the reviews, prior to purchasing, I thought I had a winner with these. Unfortunately, this mask did not work for me for the following reasons and therefore had to return: 1). Whereas the airline issued masks are light and do not overheat my face, this mask caused me to sweat. In fact, I even removed it one night whilst asleep. This never happened with the airline issued masks. 2). I'm a side sleeper, so the extra padding only caused indentations at the corner of my eyes with this mask. It was odd. So, went from the small lines left by the airline issued masks to much larger indentations at the corner of my eyes. 3). This mask left a large red mark on the bridge of my nose nightly. 4). Not sure if I'm the only one, but I like the comfortable feeling the airline issued masks provide by pressing up against my eyelids. In fact, I even use an Osim eye massager that I've had for years now. This mask has slots at the eyes for whatever reason. Not sure why the slots are there because it's not like I'm going to be opening my eyes just to see what's it's like to be blind. I even tried to use the mask with the exterior part facing in to see if that worked better. It did not. 5). The earplugs provided are not good. The standard 3M yellow plugs work much better. For the above reasons, I cannot use this mask and have requested a refund. I'm glad it's useful for many. For me, that was not the case.
