When I got this I was aware it's not a live GPS. No problem. It's great if I misplaced my wallet at home and I can make it chirp to find my wallet. That's because my phone and wallet are within range. That's fine. BUT... I went to lunch on a work day with my phone and my wallet with the tile app in it like always. The app takes a snap shot of the last place my phone and tile were in range of each other. That's what the app does. It takes you to the last place your phone or app was in range of the Tile itself. Here's the problem... I get back to work and I can't find my wallet. TILE to the rescue!!! Or not! The app says my wallet is back at the restaurant. So I race back to the restaurant and start getting closer and closer to where my wallet should be according to the app. I'm standing over the spot. Nothing. I can't turn on the chirp feature or search feature on because I have marked my Tile as lost. And once you put it in lost mode those functions are disabled. So I looked and looked and looked. Nothing. That restaurant must be the last place my phone and app were together. I call and cancel my cards. Don't bother going back to work because I have to go to DMV and get new license. Next day at work, found my wallet. At work. But the app had said the last place my phone and my wallet with the tile in it was at the restaurant. When in reality my phone was merely feet away from my phone the whole day. The app never refreshed the location and I lost a half days pay looking for a Tile that was really in one location with me when the app sent me on a wild goose chase 2 miles away. Save your money.
