I have used Wahl clippers for decades and recommend them highly. We replace our unit every 3-4 years so this time I decided to go with the chrome pro kit, BIG mistake. First cut out of the box there were stripes. I stopped and examined the clipper a little closer- its just bad manufacturing! The blade is the same as it always has been but the plastic that is supposed to keep the blade in place does not do its job so the blade moves too far to one side causing it to not fully cycle between the fixed blade and the moving blade. This causes it to only cut half of the hair that passes through- leaving stripes of uncut hair or what another reviewer called "crop row" look. In one review I saw someone say the blade cut them and I believe it, the plastic piece that holds the blade bends in this model! I bet theirs bent forward instead of to the side like ours... I was able to push the blade back to the middle and do a few more passes before I got striping again and had to turn it off, push the blade back into the plastic and then resume. I couldn't leave my husband with stripes or half a haircut so I had to make it work... Go with the Wahl Color Pro Complete Hair Cutting Kit, you will not be disappointed with that one. Shame on Wahl for releasing a sub par product- We TRUST your name, pull this model back for product testing and toss it in the abandoned product box where it belongs asap.
