We have the 8" pan and use it primarily for cooking our daughter an egg every morning. We've only used plastic utensils when stirring the egg. It's used on a newer Wolf induction cooktop on medium heat and occasionally put in the dishwasher but mostly hand washed. As the pictures show the pan has started flaking on the bottom and on the edge. For as expensive as these pans are I was quite surprised to see this and sent the pan in to All-Clad to evaluate for replacement via their lifetime warranty. They returned the pan to me saying it was a use and care issue with no additional info and would not replace the pan even after a follow up phone call. We do use the pan four or five times a week, perhaps that's to much use for these types of pans or perhaps the egg itself ate away the coating...not sure. We have far less expensive cookware that is used as often that has not developed this issue. They went on to say the flaking won't hurt our daughter and isn't harmful to swallow. I say no more All-Clad for our family.
