Great Saw, but......
I had high hopes for this saw which has many great competitive features. I wanted a very accurate saw for 90-degree non-beveled cross cuts up to 12". Upon inspecting it, I was surprised to notice about ½-degree of play in the miter when gently checking out deflection. Surprisingly, this play did not result from the slide poles but from the turntable mechanism itself. Taking a close look under the unit, I found an elongated part that links the front lock lever controls to the miter detent engagement, and it includes the detent finger. This elongated part is made of plastic. There is an allen screw at the fulcrum of this part and here is the source of much of the lateral play. Tightening this screw did manage to reduce the play to about 1/3-degree. But at the saw’s full slide extension for a 12” cut, the resulting play amounts to over 1/16” of crosscut variance (you can do the math). This amount of play is unacceptable for my purposes. Over time, I have no doubt this plastic part will wear and cause even more play. I had no clue someone would design an otherwise great saw like this and then use a plastic part in the critical miter angle mechanism. I am now finding reviews on Youtube where miter accuracy is definitely not a strong point of this saw. Amazon made returning the saw easy. I plan to buy another saw from Amazon, probably the much more expensive Makita. The folks at Makita have assured me the critical miter mechanism has no plastic parts.
