DO NOT PURCHASE / DEAD IN 14 MONTHS / FAKE WARRANTEE / HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE…
My original Honda battery lasted exactly 2 years from purchase of the new motorcycle (Honda NC700xd.) I was excited about the great reviews, so I purchased this battery. Died in exactly 14 months :( Allow me to share the lessons I learned about the WARRANTEE... #1. To replace the battery under warrantee would take 3-4 weeks, according to customer service (a long time to take the bus to work/school). AND, if I purchase a new battery for the MONTH I am waiting for a replacement, there would be NO POINT to being covered under a warrantee. #2. There is much more to the WARRANTEE than explained on Amazon OR the Batterytender website. You have to learn new about their "WARRANTEE" later? Isn't it stipulated on the website? No, sorry... My quoted conversation with TIM from Customer service: TIM: The warranty on the battery after the first year is 50% off the MSRP with the original receipt. between 13-24 months. →oh… really? →that's deceptive →I never read that in the warrantee information from the purchaser (AMAZON). Only that warrantee is voided from alteration or damage →Has that always been the policy? → If so, people should definitely think twice before accepting your listed warrantee as a fair and sound policy--especially since you claim 5x the life, but only truly give 1/2 the life of a lead-acid battery →This is getting dirty….lol TIM: the warranty has not changed in 5 years →Really, it says that no place on your warrantee page or Amazon--where I purchased the battery. →the only stipulation printed is that after 90-days, the purchaser pays shipping. There is NOTHING about 50% warrantee after a year →I am reading it again, right now →Your 50% policy is no place on the warrantee page →Am I not reading it correctly? →Tim? →Can you please show me that stipulation on the warrantee page? →Tim? →you there? TIM: i am here →and? →Where is that 50% rule stated on your warrantee page? →I didn't see it when i purchased the battery TIM: it will be on page 4 of the insert that came with the battery →What??? WOW !!!!… that's not given until AFTER purchase… TIM: sorry →the warrantee that is stipulated prior to purchase MUST be honored. you cannot change the rules AFTER the purchase is made. →are you sorry? really…lol TIM: anything else i can help you with? →So i won't have a battery for a month, and will get a bill for 50% of the MSRP ($149.99)? TIM: Correct, if there is any money owed at the time we would contact you to advise you at that time ------------------------ I have never had a new battery die out so quickly.... and never dealt with such a sneaky warrantee (CHANGES AFTER PURCHASE) I went to take my final exam at the university, and click....click.... no start..... dead...... ahhhhhhhh!!!! Bad way to start the exam--late and going crazy..... There are a lot of good reviews, but I believe that's only because it takes about a year for these to die out. I was excited about this at first also, and my immediate review would have been steller. Glad I waited to write this.... What's NOT to like at first install? It is very small, very light, and worked perfectly. But unfortyunately for me, the proof is in the pudding, and this pudding went sour far too quickly for the inflated price tag. I'm going back to the honda stock battery... I need my bike every day, so I need another battery immediatly. No time to wait a month without my bike, only to be charged $75 if I want my replacement.... I am sad now.... Don't be sad... buy a different battery....
