I will not purchase this because......
Why is it that every single mystery/police procedural/thriller with a woman protagonist always has a connection to the woman's past and some deep dark secret? "Foster will have to confront the darkest of secrets—including her own."
Here's a hint - just make it about the story and the person's involvement - see the Davenport novels by Sandford. They might have some backstory, but not much, and not often.
How about just sn interesting detective who's good at her job?
