★☆☆☆☆
Interminable
I found this book mindbogglingly boring. The premise hooked me. I'd really like to see a book about 3 sisters left to fend for themselves after their father's death in mid 19th century Germany. I like the premise that one daughter has a head for business and another artistic and craftmanship talent. I would love to see their struggles and focus and decisions as they build their business. But the bickering and long insipid "romance" scenes make my eyes roll back into my head. The first 25% of the book is awful. The next 35% is a lot better. But after that, it's just ridiculous. The last 10% is probably supposed to be the "happily ever after" but I couldn't stop grimacing long enough to concentrate on reading it.
