★★☆☆☆
Not like my friends older ones.
This is the newest Peg Perego JD Gator. It puts together easy and works fine. I added some LED headlights, green ground effect, key ignition, and looks Great! I understand that kids aren't going over jumps and abusing this, and its really a toy. That being said, Peg has leaned back the thickness of the plastic here, as compared to previous models. My daughter isn't 25 lbs and it gives and bows in the floor board when she step on it. 1/2 inch of give. When the steering wheel goes from left to right (or vice versa) the whole front has a give in it. Two rods of metal reinforcement along the length of the bottom would have benefitted this Big Time. I viewed some friends models that are older and borderline worn out. The only difference? Thicker (stronger) plastic. I hesitated putting 2 small holes in the frame for ground effects simply becuase there is no structural integrity to begin with. It's just cheap...yet it's not cheap! We live in a throw away society - this qualifies!....I expected more. If you go to youtube and keyword seach "John Deere Gator Stress Test" I assure this kid would crack this new model in half. I'm worried what a summer of heat will do to this thin and cheap plastic base. Looks great *, daughter loves it **, doubt it will last. two stars.
