If you are thinking of purchasing a Stack-On safe to keep dangerous items safe from children, THINK AGAIN. I recently was trying to open one of my 3 stack-on safes when I discovered that the batteries which operate the keypad were dead. When I couldn't find the backup key, I googled "stack on safe key" thinking I could just order a replacement key. The search brought up several YouTube videos (some made by kids who had to be under 10) showing how you could open this type of Stack-On safe with a simple paperclip. I have 3 Stack-On safes of different models, all with the electronic keypad lock, all purchased within the last 18 months. I can confirm that using a single paperclip and no skill whatsoever, I was able to open all 3 safes very easily, typically in less than 10 seconds. Any 8-year old with access to YouTube and a paperclip easily can get one of these open in less than a minute. While I never expected this thing to be burglar-proof, I certainly trusted that it would deter a curious child. As it stands, a brown paper bag is about as secure as this safe.
