Dissappointed
My initial review was not posted, I suspect it was due to the manufacturers complaint concerning word usage in my review, referring to their product as a mattress pad. First, this is not a mattress pad; while it's advertised by Amazon under bedding & bath in the mattress pad section, the manufacturer advised me that the product is a mattress "protector" not a mattress pad. I was subsequently advised that the sole purpose is to protect the mattress from spills and not to act as a pad. What makes no sense is a person is not going to purchase a mattress protector and then purchase a mattress pad as well. If it's not a mattress pad don't advertise it in the mattress pad section! I will simply refer to it as a mattress "cover".
In spite of the manufacturers terms used to describe their product, "Superior Quality", "Durable" and "Fitted". I respectfully disagree.
The product is thin, very thin terrycloth, and while it may be "fitted" in terms of design, the elastic used is marginal at best which translates to a loose sloppy fit instead of snug or tight fitting. After one week of use the material is already sliding and bunching.
A thin terrycloth cover that doesn't stay in place is not a product I would describe as "superior quality", "durable" or "fitted"
The premium brands mattress covers I've looked at in department stores, made for memory foam mattresses & labeled as being 100% waterproof were padded as well and had substance to them. My terrycloth "protector" cover will be used as a drop cloth for painting; a quality memory foam mattress deserves a quality mattress cover.
