You might not be able to change the battery when it needs it
The Motorola Talkabout 100 was fine for what we needed it for: backing and parking our RV. It's good for close range work. I don't know about any other usage.
We are unable to get the bottom off the radio to change the battery. If you search on "changing the battery in the Talkabout" you will get dozens of results from people who have the same issue, and lame instructions about "removing the bottom,: which seems impossible. Even with a screwdriver we can't get it open. Neither I nor my strong husband can get it open. So we have one working walkie talkie, which is useless.
I don't recommend buying these at all. The batteries lasted us two trips out with very minor usage, and now not being able to add new batteries means we have a useless object.
