I bought this because of the good reviews, and while initially impressed with size and weight, after attempting to season and wash I got the impression I smelled concrete. Having seen some warnings before about concrete on other items, I decided to have a go at it with a steak knife. It gouged away rather easily while the black granite I had delivered for my landscaping only received surface scuffs from the same knife. My guess is this product is made from concrete with granite crumbs mixed in. I find it a highly irresponsible item to sell for food use and worry about all the people that are getting Chinese concrete dust in their food. Buyer beware.
