It's not really 1650w
It overheats when using a 1500w heater and trips it's built in breaker. After resetting it 4 or 5 times, it seems totally broken and trips immediately. Prior to general failure, it was operating properly and did the intended job (controlling a 1500w space heater in a 20 ft insulated shipping container) I went so far as separating the wire on the heater and verifying that it was drawing only 13.5A. 110v x 13.5A = 1485W ... that should be well within the usable range for this device, but it's not. That was enough draw to overheat it with a duty cycle of more than 20 minutes. It was delivered and installed on Jan 28th, and it is already dead. It did not even last one month. Edit: I contacted the vendor, and they did indeed send me a second unit, however I won't be using it. You see, in the time between my posting this and getting the new unit, I took the old unit apart and found that it has a 14 amp fuse in it. It clearly states that it is 1650w and 15 amps, but the simple truth is that it is not and never will be a 15 amp unit. I don't know if the vendor is aware of this, but the labeling is blatantly false. I thank the vendor for their wonderful service, and prompt replacement ... but the product is still only one star because I have to give it that much to leave a comment. edit #2: I like the unit and want to use it, so I looked and found a 15 amp push button fuse just like the one installed, it is made by the same mfg, and with two of them i can make the thermostats work properly. https://www.amazon.com/Thermal-DIYhz-Terminals-Waterproof-Transparent/dp/B07FS6PFW4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=CI2061WA7QQ&keywords=push+button+fuse+15+amp&qid=1552256379&s=gateway&sprefix=push+button+fuse%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-1
