Buy this for the children of people you don't like
Do you have a frenemy with kids you'd love to stick it to a bit? This is the perfect thing to gift their child.
This sounded like a great toy, but it falls short in execution.
There is too much goo, so as soon as your kiddo draws something it disappears much to their frustration and yours. They cry.
The goo turns chunky overnight so every time you pull it out you have to rub it around a bunch before your tot can really draw on it again. Then they try, it fades and they cry.
The music is what I imagine one would hear in the waiting room of a mental institution. That is not a dig against mental facilities, I am just trying to paint a picture here. The speaker is as horrible as you'd expect from a state-paid facility. They supply a playlist of 12 tired nursery tunes but it does include a mystery tune that sounds like the closing credits of a Wes Anderson movie -- we don't mind that one.
The draw stick holder is too hard for little hands to pry the stick out of, but the stick is a good trainer for holding a writing implement since it is triangular -- it also prevents it from rolling away. We like the stick.
The lights are great and look really cool when you get the goo thinner in the middle and draw a weird picture. There is one setting that auto changes color which is nice.
This would be a 5 star product if you took out the music and added fine-grain glitter to the goo; seriously, how is there not glitter in an opportunity like this?! Glitter + rave lighting + goo = at least 15 minutes of time to pee by yourself.
I wanted to love it and with a few minor tweaks my kids would, as it is now they lose interest and leave the music on as they go find their pads of paper and crayons. I stash it in the closet when they are not looking.
