I have a two year old Samsung side-by-side refrigerator. For the past two years, I have been replacing the water filter with this water filter. This month, my filter came from Amazon. It looked just like the old filter that I was replacing. Unfortunately, it would not screw in. I figured it was some sort of undetectable manufacturing defect and sent it back to Amazon for an exchange. This went smoothly. However, the replacement also did not fit. I looked and looked to see if I could spot any difference between the old one and the new one. For one thing the new one is labeled Samsung instead of Aqua-Pure. The model number remained the same DA97-00003G. This was a puzzler. Then I noticed that the leading edge of the first "tooth" , on the original filter had a kind of wear to it. Since this is the first contact of the filter with the receptacle, my thought was that this was the difference I was searching for. I took the new filter and shaved about 0.5 mm off of the leading edge corner of the first tooth, on both sides. I used an ordinary X-Acto knife to do this. Voila! It worked. I don't know why this is true but it is. I have enclosed pictures to demonstrate. Hopefully this might be of some help to others with a similar problem.
