Failed when needed most
Activation and initial setup were simple. Test messages were sent and received without problem. But when 10 miles off shore and needed to send an SOS, it could not find cell tower or satellite service and did not send the SOS. Very glad to have been in VHF and cell phone range of shore, but will not rely on this device in blue water.
