The bolster came a bit firm for my liking, and I was pleased to learn that you can remove filling. Most of what I found inside was clean, fresh cotton...but about halfway down, it was stained and dirty with hairs in it. Unlike the rest of the cotton that appeared to have come off a roll, this portion was in little bits and appeared reused. I included photos of the clean and dirty cotton for comparison.
