"Shielded valve" shielding mold/mildew!
I am unaware of any directions, coming with this bottle, that refer to the cleaning of the "shielded vent", but after finding mold pouring from the lid, I painstakingly pried the top apart to find an utterly disgusting mess of it! Other than that, there's also the leaking bite valve. Two stars from me.
